* To ensure 35 Innes Rd is preserved as bushland, by establishing a Greenwich Rainforest Reserve, contiguous to the Lane Cove Bushland Park, to remove the threat of increased residential displacement of bushland, as approved by Council on 1.3.99.

* To ensure the full biodiversity of the Upper Lane Cove Bushland Park is retained without being compromised by a building covering approximately 3/4 of a block of bushland contiguous with the Park.

* To maintain the ecological integrity of the area by ensuring there is no future and potential danger to the endangered hygrocybe, by preserving the bushland approximately 100 metres upstream.

* To prevent consequential reduction of soil moisture content, and changes to microclimate and microenvironment which would be inevitable in the event of development of 35 Innes Rd.

* To protect the feeding, breeding & roosting ground of the birds & wildlife.

* To raise sufficient funds to pay for a mortgage on the bushland at 35 Innes Rd, so it can be held as a community trust / or alternatively have it added to the Lane Cove Bushland Park, as a special Rainforest Reserve enclave, established by the Community.

To initiate fundraising to establish the Reserve, once Council, the State or Federal Govt, or provate sponsorship has secured the acquiition of the land. Proposed fundraising activities include a Family Street Party, Bush Dance, Rainforest Ball, Debate and Chamber Music Concert.

* To protect the creek from potential pollution from a building site and dwelling, with proposed deck, as indicated by a ribbon, only 5 metres from the creek.

* To retain the status quo of buildings set back a minimum of 20 metres from creeks and rivers, by preventing a new precedent of a building as close as 5 metres from this creek in Lane Cove.

* To clear the land of weeds - especially prevalent Privet and Wandering Jew.

* To encourage the regeneration of indigenous wet sclerophyll and temperate forest flora, especially some species which are almost lost to the area, like the Cyathea Australis tree fern.

* To retain all existing native vegetation on the block.

* To plant ferns and other wet sclerophyll / select rainforest species, which will curtail erosion or loss to the understory once weeds are removed.

* To allow environmentally aesthetic & responsible public access, via a walkway through the reserve, linking up to the Upper Lane Cove Bushland Park at the creek below 37 Innes Rd.

* To provide future educational opportunities for school & tertiary excursions.

* To prepare a management plan.

* To ask the Council to change the title of this land to Open Space, and place a covenant on the Reserve, to protect the Reserve in perpetuity.
